Students collaborated to prepare 50 meals, which were cooked and packaged for distribution to local food banks
Students from Carmel College and Rosmini College have come together through the Young Vinnies programme to support their local community through a practical service initiative known as Travelling Pots.
As part of this project, students collaborated to prepare approximately 50 pasta and mince meals, which were carefully cooked and packaged for distribution to local food banks. The initiative aimed to provide nutritious, ready-to-eat meals for individuals and families in need within the community.
Working in mixed teams, students demonstrated cooperation, shared responsibility, and practical food preparation skills. The project also highlighted the importance of service, empathy, and community engagement, as students contributed to an initiative that has a direct and meaningful impact on others.
The Travelling Pots initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of schools and the Young Vinnies to encourage students to actively participate in community service and to understand the value of working together for a common purpose.
