Rosmini Basketball Term 2 Wrap-Up
It’s been a huge Term 2 for Rosmini Basketball, with all of our 37 teams launching into action across various grades and competitions.
Our 17 Intermediate teams wrapped up their Semester 1 season, which ran throughout Terms 1 and 2. Congratulations to all teams involved in this week’s Semester 1 finals—a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the effort and commitment shown across the season. A special congratulations to our Rosmini Bulls who were undefeated in Semester 1, taking out the League 1 title. Honourable mention to the Rosmini Knicks and Rosmini Clippers, both making the Grand Finals in their respective grades.
Meanwhile, our Junior and Senior teams began their seasons early in the term. We’ve already seen encouraging growth in player development and strong performances on court, with plenty more to come as their season continues into Term 3.
Our Premier team has had a challenging start, with injuries and a run of away games testing the squad’s depth. However, Term 3 looks bright with the return of a full-strength roster and six out of seven games scheduled at home. We encourage our community to get behind the Prems—come down, wear red and blue and show your support!
A highlight of the term was our inaugural Rosmini Basketball Season Launch, held in May. It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout. The event featured Premier jersey presentations, fun competitions, giveaways, with Old Boy Charlie Dalton stealing the show on the mic; along with messages from Ambrose Samuels (Teacher in Charge of Basketball) and Sonny Tuaputa (Director of Basketball). They shared our programme’s vision, long-term goals, and how we’re building sustainability through sponsorship and membership initiatives. Several old boys attended, including Julius Halaifonua, Will Heather, Charlie Dalton, Tom Beattie and Clark Hughes.
We also launched our calendar raffle fundraiser, which has been well supported by our basketball families. A heartfelt thank you to all those who have sold and purchased tickets—your contribution directly supports the growth and development of our basketball programme. The draws begin on July 1st and then every day for all of July! We must of course thank the generosity of those in our community who contributed to our prize pool:
